Welcome to Chi Alpha!
Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship is a community of students earnestly following Jesus. We’re not a fraternity or a sorority (although we’re a great place to find brothers and sisters). Our name is inspired by 2 Corinthians 5:20 which says “we are therefore Christ’s (Chi) Ambassadors (Alpha).” We often abbreviate our name as XA.
We believe that life is best lived out grounded in devotion, community, and responsibility.
Devotion — A life of worship
We are made for a vibrant relationship with God.
Community — Becoming God’s family
We are made for relationships, and the deepest transformation occurs when we are living in community with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
Responsibility — Living on mission
Every Christian has an outward responsibility and role in global missions, relational evangelism, and justice.
What we do
Each campus groups meets on various days of the week, but in general you can expect:
Weekly gatherings on each campus
Small groups are the heart of our community. They meet weekly to study the Bible, pray together, and live life together.
Retreats and conferences each semester.
Serving on Spring and Summer Break Trips.
We also believe in having fun! You’ll find us having regular social gatherings, whether’s game night, karaoke, or a fancy dinner.
Find your campus for specific events, as well as our citywide events!
What we believe
We welcome students from all backgrounds, but our beliefs can be summarized simply
God is real.
God has revealed Himself in Jesus.
The Bible is God’s word.
God is still working in the world today.
God ought to be the most important thing in every person’s life.
These beliefs can be described as orthodox, Protestant, and Pentecostal.
By orthodox, we mean that we affirm the historic declarations of the Christian faith: specifically the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed.
By Protestant, we mean that we believe the Bible is trustworthy and that faith requires personal commitment — no one is born a Christian.
By Pentecostal, we mean that we believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit includes miracles, and this is an important part of the life of the church. We’re sponsored by the Assemblies of God, the world’s largest Pentecostal denomination.
